The name Wolvenpit comes from the Finnish word sudenkuoppa that has the literal meaning of wolf pit, a trapping pit for catching wolves. However, it is commonly used in figurative sense with the meaning pitfall — “A potential problem, hazard, or danger that is easily encountered but not immediately obvious.” (Wiktionary) « collapse

Hominilupoid is… expand »

Hominilupoid is the sole person behind Wolvenpit. Having drafted and sketched video games since childhood, Hominilupoid picked up Game Maker 5.0 in the age of 10, for the first time opening himself a chance to actually develop games. Later he would start studying Computer Science in the University of Turku, Finland. Experimenting with writing small-scale video game engines on Java, C♯, and C++ and using Unity as part of his work, Hominilupoid returned to Game Maker finding it all in all the best option for creating quality games with ease, efficiency, and possibility to easily build the game infrastructure the way one best sees it. The version currently in use by Wolvenpit is GameMaker: Studio 1.4.

Hominilupoid has experience of more than a decade of developing games in a team. In the two-person team he used to be part of, Hominilupoid was responsible for programming, sound effects, and composing the music, while the other person produced all the graphical material. However, the team hardly finished any of its myriads of projects.

Come Wolvenpit, and now Hominilupoid is the sole producer of content, leading his game ideas all the way from the concept table to the players' screens. « collapse
